Browse, read, and search the Internet faster than ever before, even if you have a broadband connection, or not! Faster than tabbed browsers, offline readers, and Internet accelerators! Whenever you click a link in WebSpeedReader to download a web page, that page downloads in the background automatically while you continue reading the current document. You can click on 1 link after another, then when you are ready to go to the next page, simply select Next Document from the menu, or press the F12 key, or click on the rightmost toolbar button (
), and, instantly, the next page is loaded, images and all. You will find that this method of browsing and reading web pages is much faster and more convenient than using any of the other major browsers, including browsers that use tabs. Go to a page of headlines, and click 1 link after another, then press the F12 key to read or scan document after document—instantly. Display a page of search results, click on 1 link after another that interests you, then look at each page quickly and easily. There is no need to click a link, wait for the page to download to see 1 search result, and the go back to the search page and click on another link, and so on. Or how about those articles that are divided into sections, forcing you to click for each section and wait for it to download. With WebSpeedReader, you just click all of the links at once, then read 1 page after another without any waiting at all. Almost every other browser that does multiple downloads uses tabs and requires you to shift-click links that you want downloaded in separate windows. Offline readers require you to download entire sites, most of which you will not read, and reading the content offline is still not as fast as WebSpeedReader, since the pages are already loaded in memory, and sequenced, so that each page can be accessed instantly. Download web pages according to the day and date automatically. Download specific pages every day, every weekday, every Monday, every 2nd Friday of the month, or biweekly, for instance, with 1 click. (A unique feature that no other browser has.) You can also have any number of home pages, as many as you like, that will be downloaded every time you start WebSpeedReader. Each page is loaded in a separate browser window for instant access! Although WebSpeedReader does use multiple windows, it doesn't clutter the taskbar. There is only 1 entry for WebSpeedReader on the taskbar no matter how many windows are loaded, and WebSpeedReader uses far less memory than the equivalent number of Internet Explorer windows. In fact, as you read each page, WebSpeedReader re-uses those windows over and over again, thus, conserving even more memory. There is also a toolbar and menu option to have pages download in the same window, if you want, or you can load any page into Internet Explorer with 1 click. New: WebSpeedReader now limits the number of windows used, which you can specify (Menu: Tools - WebSpeedReader Options). However, even with only a few windows open, you still don't have to wait for pages to download, even if you have hundreds of pages scheduled for downloading. Why? Because WebSpeedReader only downloads the pages necessary to fill the number of windows that you specify (default: 25). The rest of your scheduled pages or clicked links are stored in a queue. As you read each document, WebSpeedReader downloads the next page to replace the just-read document. This removes any restrictions on the number of scheduled pages or clicked links, even if you have a slow connection and a small amount of memory! Furthermore, you can get started reading sooner, since they are fewer pages downloaded initially.

- Searching and Highlighting - Instant access to over 50 search engines. You can also search Google or Vivisimo directly from the sidebar—search results download in the background. Thus you can search and keep reading at the same time. You can highlight any text on any document to quickly find what you are looking for. From the sidebar, you can search and highlight the same terms quickly and easily. You can also highlight more than 1 term or phrase at the same time.
Schedule searches. Monitor the web for any topic that you desire by scheduling search URLs using any search engine. All you have to do is use your favorite search engine (access many of them instantly, using WebSpeedReader's custom search page), go to the page with the search results, and schedule the resulting URL to download periodically. You can save any number of search queries like this, and monitor any number of topics without limit. You can even schedule a search using more than 1 search engine for more comprehensive results.
- Sidebar - WebSpeedReader now has a new sidebar that displays the Links Bar and the Windows Bar. The sidebar can be displayed or hidden by checking or unchecking View - View Sidebar from the menu. The Links Bar shows all of the links that make up the links bar in Internet Explorer. You can add additional links by checking Quick Links in the Add to Favorites form, or editing any Favorite link by loading the Favorites bookmark manager (Favorites - Organize Favorites), selecting the desired links, then selecting Edit. The Windows Bar shows all open windows. Black entries indicate the beginning of a download; blue entries indicate fully downloaded sites, and red entries are documents that have already been read. The current window is the selected entry. Click on any link to go to the window immediately. Important Note: WebSpeedReader limits the number of windows to minimize memory use. You can adjust the number of windows by selecting Tools - WebSpeedReader Options from the menu. The default number is 25. WebSpeedReader re-uses windows, so you do not have to close the window to move to the next window. When more links have been clicked than the maximum number of windows chosen, WebSpeedReader queues those links. As you read each document and move to the next, a new document will be downloaded in the window that you have just read. You will NOT see queued links in the sidebar, because they are not actually loaded yet, and thus, don't belong to a window.
Headings - Display all of the headings of most documents in the sidebar for quick navigation to any part of the document, or to get a quick overview.
Home Pages - Set any number of pages as home pages, which are loaded automatically at startup.
Download any Favorites folder as a group with 1 click. Thus, any folder can form a group.
Form Filling - With Add to Favorites, you can capture most form submissions, and then submit them with the click of a bookmark. Thus, you can log onto any site automatically without even a prompt from a dialog box. However, you can also fill in forms by right-clicking any textbox and selecting any information that you have stored in a text file, which can be easily editing from within WebSpeedReader. Each line of the text file represents a selection in the context menu. You can even maintain aliases that you can enter on forms to maintain your privacy.
On the current web page, open all links, all image links, all internal links, all external links, and all selected links with 1 menu selection. These options are all on the OpenLinks submenu. Opening all image links creates your own slideshow with 1 click! On a multi-part web page, the first page usually has links to the rest of the article. Now you can just select the links and open them in the background by clicking on the Open All Selected Links toolbar button, or from the OpenLinks submenu. It doesn't matter if there is intervening text in the selection. WebSpeedReader knows which are actual links. Opening all links is a great way to check out your site, the site of a friend or blogger, or to just do it on a random page, to meander across the Internet, discovering things that you would not ordinarily come across. Or do a search in Google, and open all pages quickly and easily, and go from 1 page to the next, using just your index and middle fingers on the numeric keypad. And because WebSpeedReader only uses as many windows as you specify, you can open all links on a page with hundreds of links without worrying about crashing your system, queuing the rest of the links that aren't loaded right away.
Default Browser - By making WebSpeedReader the default browser, you can click on any number of links in your mail program (if your mail client uses the default browser to launch links) or Windows Explorer, or any other program that uses the default browser, and if WebSpeedReader is already loaded, it will accept those links in the background, and download them while you continue to read your mail, or whatever else you're doing. No need to switch back and forth. WebSpeedReader flashes its window each time it accepts a link that you clicked, to give you feedback that WebSpeedReader has handled it. When you are done, switch to WebSpeedReader to read all of the pages that you selected, one after the other, with no waiting. If WebSpeedReader is not already running when you click the first link, then that first click will launch WebSpeedReader and Windows will give it focus. Just minimize WebSpeedReader to continue reading your mail. WebSpeedReader will handle all subsequent links in the background, without taking the focus away from your current program.
Prevents all pop-up and pop-under ads, completely and automatically! You don't have to maintain any lists, or do anything at all. This feature is completely automatic.
Instant access to the major search engines. WebSpeedReader has a special page with all of the major search engines, including Google. (See screen shot below.) You can enter search terms in a single box, then click as many search engines as you want. Each search engine's results will download in a separate browser window. You can click on each link in the results, and each one will download in the background, while you continue reading results. Then when you are ready to see those results they will appear instantly with the click of a button. Increase Image Sizes - Increase the size of all images on a document, including all frames, to any size that you want. Excellent feature for those of you who have high-resolution monitors.
Navigate using the numeric keypad. The numeric keypad isn't very useful in a browser. Now you can use it to page down, page up, move to the next or previous document. Press 0 to page down, press the . (decimal) key to go to the next document. (1 pages up, and 2 scrolls the document to the top, 3 scrolls the document to the bottom.) This means you can read 1 document after another simply by using your index and middle fingers. Try it out! Navigation has never been easier! Pressing 7 will download the home page of the current web site in the background. No need to click in the address bar, and erase everything except the domain to go to the home page of any site. To use numeric keypad navigation, toggle the scroll Lock key on. If you turn scroll lock off, then you can use the numeric keypad to enter numbers. And you thought the scroll lock key was totally useless! You can also select numeric keypad navigation from the Navigation submenu.
Navigate better using the mouse. If you have the mouse cursor over the document, you can page down or up with the mouse wheel (in contrast to scrolling a few lines at a time, which is its default behavior), and you can go to the next document by simply pressing the right mouse button. Furthermore, by pressing the Alt key while turning the mouse wheel, you can scroll a few lines at a time, up or down, which is the default action of the mouse wheel, normally. If you want the default context menu that usually comes up by clicking the right button, just press the Ctrl key while you click the right mouse button. Thus, while keeping your hand on the mouse, you can click links to download, page up and down, scroll a few lines at a time, or move to the next document. You can also turn autoscroll on by clicking the mouse wheel and setting the marker away from the clicked position. The farther it is from the center mark, the faster it scrolls. Setting the marker below the center scrolls down, setting it above, scrolls up.
Records of saved files stored in a database for easy retrieval and maintenance—great for doing research! You can save files on your hard disk that are automatically recorded in a database. Each record includes the date of download, document title, original URL, and filename. You can view these records in a single web page. Clicking on the original URL will download the web page from the original site; clicking on the filename will load the document form your hard drive. Each record also includes a Delete link, that deletes both the record and the file for easy maintenance.
Advertise your website, blog, or business for free. WebSpeedReader now allows you to create your own user-agent string, which is part of the header that is submitted to web servers that you visit. This string is recorded in web logs at every site you visit. When people, who have websites look through their logs, they'll see your message or the URL to your website or blog. You can also add a memorable quote, or even your name.
Tools - Translate, Whois, and the WayBack Machine - Quickly translate pages into other languages, find out about a domain name, or find out the history of any site with 1 menu click.
Saves all URLs of unread web pages. Sometimes you download too many pages to read, and realize you don't have the time to finish them. When you quit WebSpeedReader, it will save all of the URLs that you haven't read, automatically. To read those pages, when you load WebSpeedReader again, select OpenLinks - Finish Last Session from the menu.
View the source of any web page in beautiful, color-coded format, which includes ALL FRAMES! You can also view the source code of ALL style sheets for a given page, including imported, external, and embedded style sheets, and including all frames, if the page has frames. A great way to learn styles, and to know how webmasters achieve their visual effects.

Prevents all script error dialog boxes automatically. Oftentimes, you'll come across web sites that have script errors, then you are presented with a dialog box, asking you if you want to debug it. The problem is, since these pages have been authored by someone else, and the pages reside on that person's server, it doesn't do YOU any good to debug it. Therefore, WebSpeedReader suppresses all of these dialog boxes. If you are authoring a web page, then just load the page in another browser to check for errors. Please note, however, that WebSpeedReader, or any other browser for that matter, does not nor can not prevent script errors--only the author of that page can do this--so if there are errors on the page, then the page may not display properly. In any case, there is nothing that you, the reader, can do about it, so these dialog boxes are suppressed in WebSpeedReader.
